A Trip to Lagamar

Cardoso Island State Park is located on the south coast of São Paulo.

It rains a lot there, actually most of the year. In winter it doesn't rain too much but it is very cold.In summer it is hot with heavy rains.

First, if you stop in Iguape, you can go to Morro do Espia, where you'll have a wonderful view of Lagamar. You can also visit the main church called Bom Jesus de Iguape with many different rooms. As Iguape and Cananéia are historic cities, you can see narrow streets with colourful and simple houses. If you have the chance to visit Cardoso Island you should go snorkeling, diving or hiking in the forest.

You can see rivers, rocky shores, waterfalls and beautiful beaches there. The visitors can stay at small inns like '' pousadas'', because there aren't many hotels. A great option for you is to stay in Cananéia in Golfinho Plaza Hotel for example.

In Iguape you can eat in a very simple but good restaurant called Itacurumim. The food is like rice and beans (homemade food), there is also pasta but the typical dish is fish. In my opinion the best restaurant in Cananéia is Naguissa do Silêncio, where you can have French Fries, beef and maybe some ice-cream.

You must take a camera with you. And don't forget to put the sunblock and the insect repellent in your bag.
To get there you need to take Rodovia Regis Bittencourt (BR116), until you get to Cananéia, then you can use the boat service if you want to go to Cardoso Island.
